How good are electric power washers?

 I necessity a power washer to clean the mildew off my bricks on my concert-hall and clean my driveway and sidewalks. I cannot sacrifice a gas one. Can an electric one do the job and if so, which brand and how many psi's would I need?

 I have a unmanageable duty 100 ft range cord and want to buy an electric power washer. I keep reading reviews that say that they can not be utilized with an extension cord. However, because of way out placement, I have to. Is there a guage rope I could use?
