RSSTokyo Leads Asian Markets Higher
At supermarket close, the Nikkei rallied 2.4%, its highest closing since the earthquake of Hike 2011. The Shanghai Composite slipped 0.1% while the Hang Seng gained 1.7%. The Sensex advanced 1.4% while the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries climbed 0.6%.
Overnight performance at Wall Street saw equities post impressive performance after Bernanke said the Fed may provoke employment through further accommodative measures. This eased fears that interest rates may be hiked in the near later.
In currencies, the dollar slipped against a basket of major currencies following Bernanke’s remarks. The diminish in dollar spurred an uptick in commodity prices, with gold pitiful a two-month high in New York trading on Monday.
