how do you get the chuck off a 18 volt Dewalt cordless drill?

 Mine is held on the driveshaft with a 'play-head' machine require. take the bit out, open the jaws and look viscera, you will see it.

 I dearth to know if anyone carries battery inserts to fit my 18 volt Dewalt cordless drill. I have 3 of them that need rebuilding and would like to do it myself.
