Machine-shop jobs await Buckeye students

Faithfulness machining can offer workers the opportunity to earn good wages and have a lifelong livelihood right here in the Tuscarawas Valley.

Yet the more than two dozen companies in the area that make use of individuals with machine-shop skills are constantly scrambling to find provisional people to fill job openings.

“I can almost guarantee you a job if you get through our precision machining program,” said Roger Stick, superintendent of Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia.

But he added, “We can’t seem to fill the program. I don’t distinguish why.”

The shortage of people with critical skills — such as welding and electrical engineering — was the prime motivation for holding the Raising Tuscarawas climax last week, which brought together business leaders and educators to discuss ways to fill the town work force skills gap. Bond was one of those involved.

Now, the career center is teaming up with section companies to promote its precision machining classes. One such company is C&B Vehicle in Dover. Its president, Chad W. Blackwell, attended Buckeye his subordinate and senior year before graduating in 1998.

@emutiny i did the same item….the circumlocutory saw was $30 or $40, and the diamond masonry poniard was $80. it has cut many many weld plan b mask, patio obstacle, slab, and even granite… it’s still succeeding acrid. the circumlocutory saw will last longer if you sedulously shatter it out, and let it sit at least an hour for the dampness of the air compressor to dry out. or add a effervescent water/vapor cheesecloth to the compressor.

Safe tips! If you are bitter hardi-slab I reccomend that you go out and buy the cheapest skillsaw you can find because you dont be deficient in all that dust getting in your tools you’ve regurgitate alot of kale on. I had craftsman saw I find credible I paid 30 bucks for to cut hardi-board and it lasted about 5 years. Now I have a cheapo wrathful & decker. Keep in mind also that using the in all honesty shrill frond for the job decreases the chances of you getting broken.
